FAQ
Yes, you can! Purchase a ready-to-use fresh or frozen pizza dough, and follow the same basic recipe steps.
Naan Pizza Topping ideas
Veggies and Fruits: Add your choice of sliced mushrooms, pineapple, peppers, zucchini, corns, olives, roasted veggies, caramelized onions, spinach, kale, broccoli, arugula... You name it!
Sauces: Swap basil pesto with another varieties of pesto like red pepper, sun dried tomato, spinach pesto or any other flavors you like. Alternatively, you can skip the pesto altogether and instead use a classic pizza sauce or creamy Alfredo sauce.
Proteins: You can add to or swap the chicken with other yummy meats! Try this recipe with slices of salami or pepperoni, cooked shrimp, cooked ground sausage, or anchovies. Make it a vegetarian pizza and use cooked pieces of tofu, paneer, or halloumi - or feel free to leave off extra proteins entirely.
Cheeses: Here we use fresh mozzarella, but there are many options for additional or other cheeses! Some other classics include shredded parmesan, cheddar, or crumbled feta or goat cheese.
Vegan Options: Purchase plant-based naan bread and dairy free mozzarella for an easy-peasy vegan recipe.
Storage & Re-heat
To store leftovers: Let the homemade pizza on naan bread cool before transferring to a container with a lid or plastic storage bag. Keep in the fridge for up to 3 days.
To freeze: It is best to freeze uncooked homemade pizza. Follow the recipe steps to assemble, then freeze on baking sheet pan until frozen - about 1 hour. Wrap in cling wrap or place in ziplock bag and freeze for up to 3 months.
To reheat: Place slices on a baking sheet, and bake at 375F for 5-10 minutes for pizza from the fridge. Bake for 10-15 minutes from frozen.
