Murmura aka kurmura or puffed rice is perfect healthy and quick snack tossed with peanuts, curry leaves, garlic and cumin seeds, red chilli powder and turmeric. This murmure namkeen recipe is ready in flat 15 minutes. Favourite munchie for all ages. Here is how to make murmure namkeen in 15 minutes
To make Murmura Namkeen:
- 100 grams, Murmure (kurmura/puffed rice)
- 3-4 garlic cloves, unpeeled and crushed
- 1 sprig curry leaves
- ½ teaspoon, cumin, lightly crushed
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- ¼ teaspoon, chili powder
- ¾ cup, peanut
- 2 tablespoons oil
- Salt to taste
How to murmure Namkeen:
- In heavy bottom pan or kadhai, heat oil
- Add crushed garlic and fry for few seconds
- Now, add curry leaves and peanuts and fry on low until peanuts are roasted nicely but not burnt
- Then, add haldi, chili powder, salt and mix well
- Add murmure and mix well stirring it for 2 minutes on low heat until everything roasted well and crisp
- Take it off the heat and cool completely
- Store in a clean air tight container for upto 20 days and relish as and when craved for.
