Why you'll love this air fryer garlic bread?
You’ll love this garlic bread because every slice tastes like something you’d get at a cozy Italian restaurant, but you can make it in minutes with ingredients you probably already have. The air fryer gives you the best texture: crispy edges, a soft, airy middle, and that perfect buttery finish, all without heating up the whole kitchen!
The garlic melts into the warm butter and spreads across the bread so the flavor is bold but never overwhelming, and the parsley adds a little freshness that keeps it from feeling too heavy. If you add cheese, it turns into a gooey, golden layer that makes each bite even more satisfying.
Serve it next to pasta, salads, or soup, and the plate instantly feels more comforting and complete. My kids love it as a snack, and I love it because it’s quick, reliable, and easy to customize.
Whether you like it extra garlicky, lightly toasted, or cheesy, this air fryer garlic bread always comes out just right. Once you try it, you’ll find yourself making it often as we do in our family!

Ingredients You'll Need

- Baquette: French loaf, Italian bread, or my favorite, sourdough baguette, creates the perfect base because it toasts evenly and gives every bite that crisp edge and soft middle we are looking for.
- Salted Butter: Soft, salted butter melts into the bread and creates that rich, golden top that makes garlic bread taste so comforting and warm.
- Garlic: Brings a fresh, bold, savory flavor that spreads through every slice and gives the bread its classic aroma and irresistible taste.
- Parsley: A sprinkle adds a mild, bright freshness that lifts the buttery flavors and makes the bread look vibrant.
- Dried Herbs: Brings out the butter and garlic flavors so every bite tastes balanced. I used dried basil, oregano and parsley.
- Red Pepper Flakes: Brings a tiny kick that wakes up the flavor without overpowering the buttery richness.
- Parmesan: Adds a warm, savory layer on top that turns simple garlic bread into a gooey, golden, extra-comforting treat.
How to make garlic bread in the air fryer?
1. Make the garlic butter:
In a small bowl, stir together ½ cup softened salted butter, 8 minced garlic cloves, ½ teaspoon dried basil, ½ teaspoon dried oregano, ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes, 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese, and 2 tablespoons chopped parsley. Mix until everything is creamy and well blended. It should smell amazing already!

2. Prep the bread:

Cut both ends off your baguette (about 1.5–2 inches), then slice the loaf into 2–3 equal sections depending on how long it is.

Slice each section horizontally so you end up with 6 pieces total. This gives you the perfect surface for spreading that garlicky butter.
3. Spread the garlic butter:

Generously slather your garlic butter onto each slice, don’t be shy!
4. Air fry the garlic bread:

Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (180°C), then place the buttered slices (cut side up) in the basket in a single layer so the air can move around them. Air fry for 4–6 minutes or until the tops are golden and the edges are crisp. If you love extra crunch, add 1–2 more minutes.
5. Serve warm:

Carefully remove the slices and let them cool for 2–3 minutes. They come out piping hot! Enjoy while the centers are soft, the edges are crisp, and the garlic butter is still warm and melty.
Optional: Make it cheesy
After spreading the garlic butter onto your bread, sprinkle shredded cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix of both over each slice, then air fry at 350°F for 5–7 minutes until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden.

Expert Tips
- Adjust the garlic to your taste. Use more for a strong garlic flavor or less for a milder taste.
- Use any bread you love, but baguettes and sourdough toast especially well.
- Always preheat the air fryer for the best crisp.
- Do not stack the slices. Give them space so air can move around and brown them evenly.
- If your butter is unsalted, add a bit more salt to the mixture.
- Toast longer if you like extra crunch. Add about 1–2 minutes as needed.
FAQs
Spread the garlic butter on your bread, place slices in a single layer on a tray, and freeze. Once frozen, transfer them to an airtight container or freezer bag. They keep for up to 3 months.
Preheat to 350°F, place the frozen slices in one layer, and cook for 6–7 minutes. Store-bought frozen garlic bread is thinner, so it usually needs only 5 minutes.
No. I prefer to cook it without for proper air circulation and get even brown and crisp on top and bottom.
Yes, but fresh garlic has a stronger, brighter flavor.
Use a dairy-free butter spread and skip the cheese. It will still be delicious!

Serving Ideas
This air fryer garlic bread fits in with so many meals, and honestly, it often steals the show. It’s the kind of side that makes a simple dinner feel extra special, and a busy night feel a bit more put-together. Here are some of my favorite ways to serve it:
Pasta dishes: Serve it next to any pasta dish, creamy Alfredo, or a simple buttered noodle dish. The warm garlic flavor pairs perfectly with any sauce.
Salads: A slice on the side gives a salad a nice, comforting balance, especially with Caprese, chopped salads, or anything with fresh greens.
Soups: Dunk it into tomato soup, chicken noodle, or any creamy soup where the crisp edges and soft center soak up the flavor beautifully.
Garlic bread “chips”: Cut leftover slices into small pieces, air fry them a bit longer, and use them like croutons for extra crunch on salads or bowls.
Dipping: It’s wonderful for dipping into marinara, ranch, pesto, or warm cheese sauce. Such a fun snack for movie nights or get-togethers.
Storage
Garlic bread is at its absolute best the moment it comes out of the air fryer. However, if you don't somehow eat it all, you can save leftovers if you need to.
Once the slices cool completely, wrap them in foil to keep the edges from drying out, then place them in an airtight container and store them in the fridge for up to three days.
When you’re ready to bring them back to life, the air fryer works wonders. Just heat the slices for about three minutes, and they’ll crisp back up while the centers turn soft again.
You can also warm them in the oven if that’s easier. Just heat until they’re warmed through. It’s not quite the same as that first bite out of the air fryer, but it’s surprisingly close, and still so satisfying.
