- ½ cup salted butter softened - at room temperature
- 8 garlic cloves minced
- ½ teaspoon dried basil
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ¼ teaspoon dried parsley
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons parsley
- 1 French baguette (~325 grams) Italian bread
- cheddar /mozzarella cheese optional - if using, as needed
To start with, add softened ½ cup salted butter, 8 garlic cloves (minced), ½ teaspoon dried basil, ½ teaspoon dried oregano, ¼ teaspoon dried parsley, ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes, 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese , and 2 tablespoons parsley .
Mix everything until well combined. Your garlic butter is ready to slather. Set it aside.
Cut both the ends of the baguette around 1.5-2 inches using a serrated knife. Now, cut the loaf vertically into two or three equal parts depending upon the length of the baguette you are using. I could cut the loaf equally into three parts.
Slice each part horizontally so that you have 6 slices now.
Spread the prepared garlic butter generously on each slices of the baguette. If you like it with cheese, top the buttered bread with shredded cheese of your choice (cheddar or mozzarella).
Preheat the air fryer to 350℉ (180℃). Place the buttered slices (cut side up) into the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do not overcrowd the basket.
Air fry the garlic bread for 4 to 6 minutes or until golden and crisp. For crispier bread, you can add 1-2 minutes extra or as desired.
Carefully remove the garlic bread from your air fryer, wait for 2-3 minutes, you can slice it or serve as it is. Enjoy!
- Adjust the garlic to your taste.
- Use any bread you love, but baguettes and sourdough toast especially well.
- Always preheat the air fryer for the best crisp.
- Do not stack the slices. Give them space so air can move around and brown them evenly.
- If your butter is unsalted, add a bit more salt to the mixture.
- Toast longer if you like extra crunch. Add about 1–2 minutes as needed.
- To freeze: Spread the garlic butter on your bread, place slices in a single layer on a tray, and freeze. Once frozen, transfer them to an airtight container or freezer bag. They keep for up to 3 months.
