Chicken Fried Rice
Hello there all..!!
Up on the blog today is very popular and most wanted Asian street / fast food. Though it’s a main course dish but it has no origin and is famous worldwide. Fried Rice usually made at home with the leftover ingredients, say veggies and cooked rice. Similarly, I tried making Chicken Fried Rice on great demand by my kiddos. Although, I made with all the fresh ingredients and to be honest. It was as tasty as the unhygienic one available outside on street cart.Yes, I’m not kidding at all 😀
Any popular varieties of fried rice have their own specific list of ingredients. In Greater China, the most famous varieties include Yangzhou fried rice and Hokkien fried rice. Japanese chāhan is considered a Japanese Chinese dish, having derived from Chinese fried rice dishes. In Southeast Asia, similarly constructed Indonesian, Malaysian, and Singaporean nasi goreng and Thai khao phat are popular dishes. I understand these are undoubtedly huge details, but they may-be helpful someday I suppose, 😀
Chicken Fried Rice can be served / eaten with the Chinese sauces available in the local supermarkets or stores. The aromatic vibe of the Chicken Fried Rice is just Wow… one would surely hop into the Wok and finish it all. Especially kids, because when it comes to a dish with Chicken, toddlers without any delay get excited and even asks to give the Fried rice in their lunch box the next day. Aaaah..! and they also eat the veggies in it so easily. The Ingredients as well as the method to prepare Chicken Fried Rice is undeniably easy and worth a try.
The rice to make Chicken Fried Rice should be tender and semi cooked so that it doesn’t become mushy after it’s fried along with the veggies and chicken and the add-ons. The ingredients other than Rice and Chicken includes beaten egg, mixed Veggies, green Chilli and Soy sauce, White Pepper, Garlic, Vinegar and Vegetable oil (I’ve used Sesame oil). This Chicken Fried Rice can be served along with any Chinese/Thai gravy or soups as it compliments every such dishes. Not to forget the spring onion is the flavour bursting ingredient in the Chicken Fried Rice. Both the shallots as well the leaves gives an immense taste to the dish. Also, one could use black pepper powder as well but the White pepper powder gives an extreme replica of the Chicken Fried Rice available outside. Also, those readymade Fried rice packet is not required when you try with the method i’ll be mentioning below. It is such an easy task to prepare fried rice. And for my Vegetarian friends all you need to manipulate here is the Chicken and the Egg. Whereas egg is totally optional for everyone, but according to my mythology adding an Egg gives out additional taste full of flavours.
Let us now quickly rush towards listing down the ingredients and method of the very renowned Chicken Fried Rice.
2 cup – cooked Rice
3/4 cup – boiled and shredded Chicken
1 Egg lightly beaten ( You may add more )
1/2 cup – mixed veggies, finely chopped (I have used bell peppers, carrot & beans)
1/3 cup – Spring onions, finely chopped
3 tablespoon – Onions (whites of spring onion)
1 tablespoon – Green chilli sauce
2 tablespoon – Soy sauce
1/2 tablespoon – Garlic, finely chopped
1 teaspoon – Vinegar
3 tablespoon – Sesame Oil
Salt & White pepper to taste
Heat oil in a Wok or a Pan. Add garlic and fry for a minute (do not burn them). Add spring onion whites and toss on high for a few seconds. Set the onion aside in a wok itself and add beaten egg ,cook until just scrambled well. Add chicken and toss well.
Add veggies and toss on high for a minute
Add chilli sauce, soy sauce, vinegar and toss well
Add salt and white pepper to taste
Add cooked rice and toss well until combined
Add spring onion greens and mix
Take it off the heat
Dish out, garnish with some more greens and serve hot
