Ayran - Turkish Yogurt Drink Recipe

- 1 cup whole milk yogurt full-fat, unsweetened plain
- 1¼ cup cold water I use ice cold water
- ¼ teaspoon salt or as you like
- ½ teaspoon dried mint optional - plus for garnish
- ice cubes for serving
- fresh mint for serving
To begin with, place the 1 cup whole milk yogurt in a deep bowl or wide mouth pitcher (jug).
Whisk the yogurt until smooth and no lumps.
Now add 1¼ cup cold water, s¼ teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon dried mint (if using) and whisk until well combined and frothy. Taste and adjust the salt and consistency, if desired.
Refrigerate ayran until ready to serve.
Pour ayran in serving glasses with ice cubes, garnish with fresh mint and sprinkle some dried mint (optional) and serve immediately.
