We have all been eating Yoghurt for over years, consumption of Yoghurt is very particular in the Middle East and India. Similarly, Yoghurt was brought into regular use as a healthy food item globally. But You know nothing can be consumed of the same flavour/taste for years. The human tongue is very choosy and looks for new flavours every now and then. Those cravings and mood swings are very hard to handle at times. Innovation is all that a tongue needs when it gets bored of the same regular taste.
Say it a miracle or an innovation, The Yoghurt was brought into the markets in various flavors though there were few complaints about the taste of the newly flavoured Yoghurt, however the demand bloomed and the usage of it flourished the markets. Just like Flavoured Yoghurt, there’s a novel swing of Frozen Yoghurt which is also called as Froyo.
I had peached store in my fridge and so I decided to make Peach FroYo. My family loves it, and it’s so mesmerizing and delicious that one can’t anyway miss it for anything. This Peach FroYo is a frozen dessert made with Yoghurt and sometimes with other dairy products. Indeed, it is more sharp in taste than the Ice-Cream. But it is completely different from light Ice-Cream and can be called a traditional soft serve.
Also the Ingredients used are very popularly known and available. I took quite a while to mention them.. didn’t I? The Peach FroYo includes Hung Curd (Yoghurt), Heavy Cream, Fresh Peaches. Next is Sugar, Honey followed by the lovely and refreshing Lemon Zest. The combination of all these ingredients is a glory. Though the Peach FroYo needs to be frozen overnight but that wait to have it immediately the very next day is worth it. As soon as you take the very first bite of the heavenly Peach FroYo you may realise the blast it does. Every bit of the bite I’ve taken made me say, ” Wow… This is scrumptious.”
No wonder why the best part about it is kids loving it, since it is 100% natural, home-made and delicious and can’t absolutely be missed for anything. I strongly recommend you all to try this amazing Peach FroYo. This Can be served as a dessert post dinner or a welcome soft-serve for the guests.
Let us now quickly lead our way towards the quantity of the Ingredients and the Method.
2& ½ cups, Peaches, small cubed
½ cup, sugar (you may adjust as per your taste)
½ teaspoon, lemon zest
¼ cup, water
1 ¼ cup, yoghurt, preferably thick / hung curd, whisked well
100 ml, heavy cream, chilled
¼ cup, icing sugar
Raw honey for drizzling
In a pan, add peaches, ½ cup sugar, lemon zest and ¼ cup water. Place it on the heat. Bring it to boil, simmer until it softens and reaches thick compote consistency. Do not mash or crush it. Keep aside to cool
Take half of the compote and puree it. Reserve remaining half
Whisk the cream, adding icing sugar to it. Whisk until it a stiff peak is formed
Mix together hung curd, whisked cream and pureed peach compote. Check for sugar, if you need more sweetness, you may add more icing sugar to it
Fold the remaining compote. Pour the mixture in freezer-safe-container (If you do not have ice-cream maker) and freeze for 6 – 8 hours until set.
Scoop out the FroYo into a serving bowl or glass. Drizzle honey on it
Garnish with cherries and peaches if desired and serve immediately 🙂
