FIG ORANGE MARMALADE

This is an easy to make recipe of a fig orange marmalade. Even people who dont like jam would cherish and love the taste of this jam like my hubby, as it has a aromatic flavour of ginger and cinnamon along with a tangy touch of orange and lemon. There is also crispy and chewy texture of the fig seeds which make it more delicious.

INGREDIENTS:-
Fig.......................................................8 nos (Fresh and Chopped)
Orange................................................2 nos (Peeled, deseeded and sliced)
Sugar...................................................200 gms (Increase or decrease as needed)
Orange zest........................................Zest of 1 orange
Lemon juice.........................................juice of 1 lemon
Grated ginger......................................1 tbsp

Cinnamon powder..............................½ tsp

METHOD:-
Sterilize the jar by washing it with mild soapy water.  Boil the jar for 10 to 15 mins. Remove it from boiling water and let it dry.  Do not wipe it.

In a heavy bottom pan, on high heat, sauté orange and fig for 2 mins.

Add sugar, lower down the heat and let it cook till the sugar dissolves.

Once the sugar is dissolved completely, add orange zest, lemon juice, cinnamon powder and grated ginger.  Stir to mix well.

Cook it till the mixture gets the consistency of a jam. Stir occasionally to avoid burning.

Take it off the stove and allow it to cool.

Fill the jam in the sterilized container.
